  • Please Note: Students are placed in this class at the annual Identification Placement and Review Committee meeting in consultation with the Durham Board Facilitator, parents, the Head of Special Education and the principal.
  • This class is intended for students with intellectual and physical disabilities.
  • This is a self contained program with limited enrollment.
  • Students in this class will not be earning credits.
  • Students in this class will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment upon graduation.
  • Work Experience is an intensive part of the Senior Associated curriculum and the time spent in the workplace increases significantly from grades 9 to 12.

THE SENIOR ASSOCIATE PROGRAM OFFERS:

  • a learning environment focussing on the student’s individual strengths and needs
  • a program that focusses on life skills, self advocacy skills, social skills, problem solving skills and employability skills
  • a supported learning environment with a small class size, educational assistants, peer tutors and co op students
