Please Note: Students are placed in this class at the annual Identification Placement and Review Committee meeting in consultation with the Durham Board Facilitator, parents, The Head of Special Education and the principal.
- This program is designed for students who require significant accommodations, modifications and support in order to deal with the curriculum.
- Enrollment in this program is limited.
- Students in the Modified Program may be working toward an Ontario Secondary School Diploma but will most likely be working toward the Ontario Secondary School Certificate or a Certificate of Accomplishment.
- Co operative education is an intensive part of the Modified Program in grades 11 and 12.
- an academic program focussing on the student’s individual strengths and needs
- a supported academic environment with small class sizes, Educational Assistants and Peer Tutors
- a focus on literacy skills, numeracy skills, self advocacy and employability skills
