sleuth                     Finding Quality Resources

Resource Tips

There are many places to find quality information for your research projects. To separate good sources from questionable ones, ask yourself the following questions: Who wrote the information? Is this person an expert on the topic? Is a bibliography provided to tell where the information came from?

It's always a good idea to use a variety of resources. Your library has print and electronic sources to meet all your research needs. Check the online catalogue for books and use the electronic encyclopedias, databases, and subject links in the tabs above to get you started. Be sure to take notes in your own words and record the bibliographic information when you find those quality resources. Sample note-taking sheets for different kinds of resources are provided on the Taking Notes link under Library.
